Buckfield Parade & Community Day — A Celebration of Small-Town Maine

Buckfield Parade & Community Day was a celebration of everything that makes small-town Maine so special.

The day kicked off with the parade—floats, candy, and cheers filling Main Street as neighbors waved to friends and family along the route. It was one of those events that reminds you how connected this community truly is.

After the parade, the school grounds came alive with local vendors, food trucks, and entertainment. Families browsed handmade goods from vendors like Starbird Hill with their beautiful handcrafted treasures, Cheyenne's Shiny Creations, and Brim's 3D, sampled treats, and enjoyed activities for kids and adults alike. It was the perfect mix of hometown charm and lively fun.

One of the highlights for me was photographing Cosmic Creation, a local dance fusion and aerial arts group from Oxford Hills and Auburn. Their performance combined dance, aerial movement, and artistry in a way that felt truly magical. Cosmic Creation's mission is to create spaces where movement, art, and community converge—and they brought that vision to life beautifully at the Buckfield Community Day

I also loved seeing so many local performers and small businesses come together to make this event shine. From unique crafts to delicious food, it was clear that Buckfield is full of talent and heart.

A huge thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and everyone who showed up to celebrate. Events like this remind me why I love photographing community gatherings—they capture the joy, connection, and shared spirit that make Maine feel like home.
